Weihai Jin was selected by Professor Kiyoshi Yokota from the Faculty of Agriculture at Iwate University in Japan from the natural hybrid offspring of Jin Guan. The Weihai Fruit Tree Tea Workstation was introduced to Weihai in January 2011 by Mr. Shunichi Kumagai, a fruit tree expert hired by the Japan Flower Armor Association, during the implementation of the national intelligence introduction project from 2011 to 2013. Formerly known as "Venus Gold", in 2018, Weihai Fruit Tree Tea Workstation was officially renamed as "Weihai Gold".
Weihai golden fruit is beautiful, with a high stem shape and yellow skin. It is rich in juice and has a very high content of soluble solids, generally above 15.3%, with the highest reaching 21.7%; Rich aroma, sweet and crispy taste, unique taste. The tree has strong vigor, with strong sprouting and branching abilities, strong secondary branch sprouting ability, large natural opening angle of secondary branches, easy flowering, and good early fruiting and high yield. The fruit ripens and is harvested from late October to early November. Delaying the harvest yields better flavor and stronger aroma. By using short rootstock seedlings with branches and self rootstock to build a garden, under good management, the results can be achieved in the same year, with a yield of 500-800kg per mu in the second year and reaching the peak fruiting period in the fourth or fifth year, with a yield of over 4000kg.
